In the Personal Care sector, microencapsulation enables products and devices to incorporate advanced controlled-release functionalities for actives, fragrances, perfumes, or other ingredients—such as natural repellents—without the need for direct topical application.
This technique makes it possible to act on the user’s personal environment, improving comfort, duration of effect, and overall acceptability of the final product, in accordance with the principles of microencapsulation technology.
Protection of actives and controlled release
Fragrances, natural repellents, and other ingredients intended for the Personal Care sector are often characterized by high volatility and sensitivity to light, oxygen, and heat. Microencapsulation makes it possible to protect these actives and define a controlled release kinetics, in line with microstructured systems for controlled release of actives.

Microencapsulated formats for Personal Care applications

Dry microcapsules in powder form
They result from a controlled drying process and are supplied as a fine powder. This format is particularly suitable for applications requiring long-term stability, ease of dosing, and integration into solid or semi-finished compounds.

Microcapsules in aqueous suspension (Slurry)
